On February 13 2003, I opened an HYI pool website at www.2percentaday.netfirms.com & soon found that due to the association with a scam website at www.2percentaday.com, that was not a good idea. So from late February HYI was based at www.hyi.cjb.net & www.highyieldinvestments.netfirms.com. Initially HYI paid 2% a day, but as the number of investors grew, the daily payments became a burden, and due to the failure of some of the early reinvestment programs, the rate was dropped to 10% a week, and for most of 2003 and up to February 2004 the program was known as HYI 10% A Week. As anyone involved in HYIP's knows, high yield investments are an extremely risky class of investment. Due to the nature of the internet, it is easy to perpetrate scams and get away with it. As a result, many investment pools have closed after losing most of the principal invested in supposely safe or reliable programs. HYI 10% A Week was no exception. By the end of 2003 I was forced to limit the 10% weekly payouts to investors who had received less than a set percentage of their principal back. I called this the "pay threshold" system, and it seemed the fairest way to pass on the losses suffered at the hands of the dishonest operators masquerading as forex traders and the like. At the time of writing, I await the outcome of the Nova-Lights fiasco. HYI 10% A Week had over $3000 invested there when the program closed in January. They have promised to refund capital invested there, but have since then claimed that they are being investigated by Arizona state government authorities where the program is based. As a result of all these events, I have decided to relaunch the HYI program with a different focus and a different name. All pages will be gradually phased in to the new EvenOdds colour scheme but to ensure a rapid transition to the new site I will retain some of the old pages until I have time to update them.
